Death

Death is not punishment — it is the law of compost. The card marks the end that has already happened, the relationship that is already over, the version of yourself you have already outgrown. The card asks you to admit the ending so the next thing can begin in clean soil.

Refusing the ending, white-knuckling a corpse, fear of change that prolongs the dying.

Past: a death — literal or metaphoric — that opened the road. Present: name the ending out loud. Future: a clean break, then renewal. In a relationship spread: a transformation, a closure, a chapter-end. As a yes/no: no, in its current form — but yes to what comes next.
